Named as the Hidden Treasure of Mindanao, Lake Carolina is located at Baganga, Davao Oriental. It has crystal clear fresh and saltwater that reminds people of the Loboc River in Bohol. It is surrounded by an abundant greenery of tall grasses and trees, perfect for you who wants a laid back vacation.
Until recently, it has been an untouched location frequented by locals as a favorite picnic spot. Swimming is allowed in here but visitors are reminded to be careful since the lake runs eight feet deep. Now, it is a developing place of tourism functioning under Resort Cartagena.
Before joining the locals by jumping to the lake from a height, ask them where there are safe spots since there are sharp and jagged rocks underwater.
Carolina has also been ventured on by the Filipino Cave Divers who want to explore underwater cave systems in the Philippines. They haven’t reached an end yet in their ventures.
